Mano is proud to be among the artists invited to participate in
this rocking fund-raiser to benefit Bea’s Fund at Joe DiMaggio
Children’s Hospital Foundation and the PAT Plus program
at Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Institute
for Early Childhood Studies.
Similar to South Florida’s Flamingo project and Chicago’s
Cows on Parade. One hundred artists were invited to create
wonderful, weird and whimsical chairs to raise funds for two
charitable organizations. The playful and colorfully decorated
rocking chairs will be displayed through the end of November
in the storefronts of the shops lining Las Olas Boulevard. The
public is invited to enjoy these artful creations. The chairs will be auctioned off at a charity auction on December 10th to benefit Bea’s Fund and the PAT Plus program. Mano cleverly, transformed his rocking chair into a "Rock Star". A detail from "The Rocker" is pictured above. Mano hopes that his rocker will make people smile and take out their checkbooks. COME ROCK !!!
The Bea Foundation, named after local artist Bea Hovancak-Stanley is dedicated to creating supportive and healing environments for children afflicted with cancer and other serious illnesses and PAT Plus a specialized program providing individualized education and support for at-risk families with children from birth to five years of age.
